Double C Dance Studio

portrait of Wendy and her mother The Double C Dance Studio has operated in Tucson since 1954, making it the longest operating studio in Tucson. Wendy Cameron Hursh is the owner and director and has been teaching dancing for over 30 years. She has studied extensively in Chicago, New York, and Dallas and has a Masters Degree in Dance Education for children. Wendy is also a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.F.A. in Fine Arts Education. Studies are continued to keep up with new dance trends and styles.

After having a large studio with over 300 students for many years she decided to reduce the size to approximately 100 students, keep classes small and have a more personal involvement with her students.

The studio offers instruction in all types of dancing for all ages and abilities, however, the emphasis is on children aged 3-17 years old. Our courses include: Special Preschool Classes, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Acrobatic.

Recital

The students perform twice a year. At Christmas the studio has a picnic where the students dance after they eat lunch and socialize with their studio friends. The second time is the annual recital in the spring. This is held at the Tucson Convention Center and is a wonderful way for the students to show the progress they have made during the year and to learn performance techniques.
